Enjoying the Sun

Mrs. Claus & I have spent the last few days Maui. We love the Islands and this week has been great. I am not at liberty to reveal our exact location for security reasons, but, I will tell you that we are staying in an ocean-front condo on the western shores. Our mornings are lazy... we sit on the deck overlooking the ocean and enjoy fresh mango, pineapple, and papaya while reading the paper. Then we wander down the beach searching for treasures that the tide has brought in. We finish the walk at a local coffee shop with a 16oz cup of Kona coffee with a shot of espresso added. We shower and head out for lunch out in Lahaina or at one of the resorts. We have been setting off in the afternoons for something active.... snorkeling, boogie boarding, wind-surfing, surfing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, parasailing, sailing, or the like. We try to be back on the beach here at the condo in time to get in a run up the beach or an ocean swim before or at sunset. After sunset, I run to a local deli or grill out fresh fesh and then we dine on the deck. We have not been out to eat yet. We like to avoid the attention and we prefer to hang out on the deck enjoying the waves, swaying palms, and clear starry nights. I am as relaxed as I have been in quite some time. At this point, I think we'll stay here until the Super Bowl... a buddy of mine was able to get tickets and I'm going to join him for the game. After that, we'll fall back into our routine.

I know many of you kids went back to school this past week. And you parents got back into the grind of going to work and shuttling the kids around. I hope you all took a few moments to stop and remember the Christmas Spirit. Please don't let it just slip away with every thing that is going on.
